Real Wedding - French Quarter Special - Ted and Julie

I was very much looking forward to this wedding, having first met Julie's parents during the planning process, then later having a chance to sit down with Ted and Julie and get to know them a little bit.  I knew that it would be a very genuine, fun spirited event, and they had their planning well thought out.  For this wedding I brought along Julie Verlinden to shoot with me, who contributed some fine images to the set.  It was also the first time I've worked with the local video team at Eskimo Love Stories, who were very easygoing and great to work with.  The weather cooperated in grand fashion, and we successfully navigated a first look, portraits, walk to the ceremony and second line parade back to the hotel.  Click on any of the thumbnails in the sections below to view them in a lightbox viewer.

Prep - Royal Sonesta Hotel

Prep time is always one of my favorite times to catch some nice candid moments, and this shoot proved to be no exception to that.  While I stayed with the ladies in the bridal suite, Julie got some nice shots of the guys getting ready.

First Look

Once everyone was all dressed and ready, we set up a nice location for Ted and Julie to see each other for the first time, and Julie V was able to grab a great shot of them from the balcony.

Portraits in the French Quarter

After the first look, we grabbed a couple of quick portraits of the couple, it was time for a very quick hustle down the street to make some more portraits.  Luckily, we were able to get a rapidly organized group shot done on Royal Street, followed by a couple nice setups with Ted and Julie, finishing up with a fun shot with their shadows.

Ceremony: Our Lady of Guadalupe

Second Line Parade back to Royal Sonesta

Details:

There were some lovely flowers from Poppy and Mint Floral, as well as a nicely decorated scene at the hotel from Luminous Events.

Party time with D'Play Band

Ted and Julie and friends got right on the dance floor at the party, barely giving themselves time to catch their breath from the parade.  The band had people on the floor the whole time, right up until the final moments with everyone singing along.  There were some fine speeches from the maid of honor and best man as well.

Congrats again to Ted and Julie!!
